INTRODUCTION
Treatment outcome of burn patients have improved in leaps
& bounds over the past 20 years – reducing the mortality rate substantially
but unfortunately the level of morbidity remains high.
Proper evaluation and management coupled with appropriate early
referrals to the relevant specialist has greatly assisted in minimizing
suffering & optimizing outcomes.
Our aspiration in organizing this symposium is to deliver to
our Malaysian practitioners an updated approach as practiced in Hospital
Universiti Sains Malaysia as well as to rephrase the fundamentals in burn
rehab.
